Papir’s new record is just what the title implies: a collection of improvised pieces from two recording sessions in early 2020. Jamming is a dual-edged sword for many bands – a path to meandering, pentatonic riffs and repetition. Not so for Papir, who are masters of instrumental conversation, weaving musical textures with ease and spontaneity.
